Mount Enterprise Cotton Gin
Cotton was the major commercial crop in Rusk County for many years.

Cotton was Rusk County's economic engine for over 100 years. The county produced more bales of cotton than any county in the state of Texas in1925. The city of Henderson had seven gins, a cotton compress, and a cotton seed oil and fertilizer mill.

The cotton gin was built in 1935. The cotton gin and equipment was moved from Mt. Enterprise in 2008. The Mt. Enterprise gin or Craycraft gin as it was called, baled its last bale in the 1940's after World War II. The gin was one of 57 in the county. Click here to learn more.
